Studio Sessions
A studio Session is an effective way of incorporating the Pilates equipment into your workout. Many people only experience the matwork side of Pilates. However, the pilates equipment was invented before the matwork and was designed to strenthen and balance your body before you performed the matwork. By using the equipment you will feel more of a connection to your deep core muscles as well as increasing your body awareness.
Each session is tailored to your individual needs. Incorporating both mat and machine based Pilates exercises challenging you with new exercises each week, encouraging progression and development.
The Pilates Reformer is designed to help you gain core stability, improving postural alignment by moving your limbs. The adjustable springs allow for progressive resistance, which helps to lengthen and strengthen the muscles rather than building bulk. It makes for an effective, no-impact stretching and toning workout that is friendly to the joints. Another pilates equipment is the Pilates chair (formerly known as Wunda Chair), it is a sprung chair to provide more resistance work. Most exercises are performed in a seated position improving your posture.
Each session has a maximum of 4 people to give the teacher a chance to correct and give feedback throughtout each session.

Pregnancy Pilates
Pilates is a very gentle way to exercise during pregnancy, pilates targets the tummy, back and pelvic floor muscles without straining other joints. Your tummy and pelvic floor muscles are put under increasing strain as your baby grows bigger so it is important to strenghen these muscles as well as learn how to release them for when you are ready for labour. Some of the classical pilates exercises are not suitable during pregnancy so the class has been modified to suit every stage of your pregnancy.
Many Pilates exercises are performed on your hands and knees, which is an ideal position for pregnancy. Adopting this position can take some of the strain off your back and pelvis, and, towards the end of your pregnancy, may help to get your baby into the right position for birth.
On your first session you pay £17, then for each week you attend you pay £8.50. |
